Misty Mountain Farm is located in Rindge, New Hampshire on 35 acres of forest land which Boer goats love.  Our Boer Goats are full blood breeding stock. The herd is now at 11 does, 2 bucks, and 24 kids. We have a full blood registered buck "Diesel" out of Full Moon that sired all 24 kids for 2008. Our up and coming young buck is out of "Love" who we will be using on our next breeding. We are pleased with the positive responses we have received from folks who have been to visit our farm. We feel that our commitment is to breed the best possible genetics into our herd for our customers.

10 of our doelings were sold even before they hit the ground this spring. That leaves us with 3 doelings and 11 bucklings for sale. We believe in passing on the gift of farming, so we have a young woman apprenticing with us. She was here for most of the kidding and is working at learning the aspects of goat husbandry here at the farm. She will be going home with 10 doelings and good hands on experience in order to excel at her endeavor with Boer Goats.

We still have our 3 workings dogs, all who are or will be 4 years old in 2008. Charlotte and Buddy our Great Pyrs work 24/7 to protect the farm. We have never lost one animal or fowl to a predator. This Spring we have added a new member to our dog family, Kodiak Bear "Cody". He is just a pup, who will grow quite quickly into a large 150lb. Pyr. He will be available for stud in 2009. Spud, our Aussie is still working the goats and very eager to please. He is also available for stud and is a proven sire of 6 pups last year. Both boys are registered with the AKC.

It's a one of a kind home for us Ray and Penny Rodriguez with our Great Pyrs Charlotte, Buddy, Cody, and Spud our herd dog. The farm itself is located on a high spot looking at the Wapack trail in the South western part of the state. We are surrounded by serene forest, comprised of pines, oaks, Maple trees and different types of brush, which our goats love. The granite out croppings are good for their hoofs and great places to play. Our chickens and guinea hens have full access to all the paddock areas working to keep them clean of insects. We have 2 ducks who also work at eating the slugs that can carry worms from the deer to our goats. Everyone has a function on the farm and performs it well.

The beginning history of the farm starts with a dream and vision we were given a number of years ago.  And that was to raise Boer Goats of quality and excellence, and we found ourselves going to West Virginia and buying a farm there. When we returned home we realized our home and hearts were in New Hampshire. After having our deposit returned to us we began our intense search for our dream farm.

Within a matter of days a realtor contacted us to show us a property in Rindge, NH. By providence we were motivated to buy the little house in the woods with the 35 acres.  This signified the beginning of our journey towards the fulfillment of our dream.
